Class B Owner Elevator Contractor

There are six classifications of contractors’ licences as established in The Passenger and Freight Elevator Act & Regulations.

Class B – Owner

Authorizes the holder to conduct general elevator maintenance, service, and minor or emergency repairs of an elevator.

Before completing the licence application, please ensure the following information has been provided to TSASK to verify the qualifications necessary to obtain a Class B Owner licence:

• The name of the engineer in charge of the engineering facilities, together with an original sample of his/her stamp and office phone number
• The name of all employees authorized to work on the elevator(s). Documentation of their training and experience is required
• Identify the elevator(s) to be worked on using the licence number assigned to that elevator

Once the prerequisites have been met, you are eligible to apply for a Class B Owner Licence.
