Overview
General Gas Contractors may engage business, advertise and hold themselves out as Contractors. They are authorized to work on installations over 700,000 btu combined load. A General Gas Contractor’s licence can be issued to anyone who employs a General Gas Fitter and provides a guarantee bond of $10,000.
How do I become a Licensed Gas Contractor?
- Ensure you have a qualifying Gas Fitter. See our Licensed Contractor or Operator directory for a list of all active Gas Fitters.
- Purchase a Gas Contractor’s Surety Bond at an insurance agency. The minimum guarantee amount is $10,000.
- Submitting your bond to TSASK:
- The insurer can email a copy of the bond to gelicensing@tsask.ca.
- The email must include the following declaration in the body of the email: “The attached is a true copy of the original bond as issued.”
